The Role of the Head of Business Development
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BA or BS in a related field required. Graduate degree highly preferred (MSc, MBA)
10+ years’ business development experience in CRO and/or Pharmaceutical environment.
Proven track record of success building client relationships
Proven track record of experience closing contracts and business agreements in the APAC region in the CRO/Pharmaceutical space
Recognized leader with demonstrated operational excellence, innovative thinking and scientific mindset.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business strategies across multiple disciplines and proven success leading change/transformational efforts.
At least 10 years of increasingly responsible positions leading and managing distributed staff and cross-functional teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to compile, analyze, and present data in a concise manner, in both written and oral context
Demonstrate ability to enlist input from stakeholders to make key decisions (e.g. tactics to accomplish goals), while ensuring final decisions are reached quickly and effectively
Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Dynamic presentation skills including command of English language
Ability to work under pressure within tight timelines
Ability to allocate/re-allocate internal and external resources, as needed to execute corporate deliverables.
Ensure that client responsibilities are met, including performance, compliance and reporting.
Keeps abreast of industry standards, changes and developments in the field
Foster a collaborative, innovative, problem-solving culture and mindset.
Strong computer skills (MS Office and project planning software)
Ability for extensive travel (>50%) to multiple Business destinations
The main responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
Work with all Managing Directors to drive business across various countries in the APAC region.
Responsible for business development for new client generation, capabilities presentations and bid defenses.
Development, oversight and roll-out of diverse strategic initiatives supporting Client’s digital platform for clinical trials.
Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), providing strategic direction for the company, developing innovative solutions issues and risks and supporting key strategies and objectives.
Communicate effectively with Executive Leadership Team to ensure effective priority setting, budgeting and resource deployment.
